Presentation based on practical points and positive message was a success with the audience.
On the 28 and 29 June,Port Maputo represented by its Planning and Project Manager Rui Sant’Ana Afonso, was present at the African Ports conference in Johannesburg. The presentation made by Sant’Ana Afonso – which had the honour of opening the session – was very well received by the audience who praised the fact that it focused on practical aspects with a positive message which was based on the confidence for its team and the work being developed.
Port Maputo also participated in a debate panel on the efficiency of the port where the focus lay on the importance of the attitude of the managers, a long term vision and the commitment and the motivation of teams. In general the participants were positively surprised with the financial results of Port Maputo which were achieved with only a few alterations to the level of management without any extra financial investment.
Porto de Maputo in an English documentary about the potential of the Africancontinent
A film company from the English producer Silverfish Media filmed various harbour activities in the Port of Maputo on the 22 and 23 June, focusing on the transport cycle of ferrochrome. The film is going to be part of a documentary of the Tripartite – COMESA, EAC, SADC –and of Trademark Southern Africa which intends to show the export potential of the Africancontinent, the importance of the commercial corridors and the possibility of creating a free trade area.
