MPDC has recently defined it’s 5 year strategy which targets a volume growth to 30 million tons until 2016. To attain this objective and also to maximize efficiency, the company has redefined its structure, including the creation of new positions which were not covered in the previous organizational chart.
To garantee the sustainability of this 5 year plan, MPDC has hired two people – with an extended regional and international knowledge in its areas – and has relocated some of our managers to positions which assure a swift knowledge transference.
Johann Botha is MPDC’s new Commercial Director. With a port experience that dates back to 1984 – with more than 20 years in several positions in the Port of Durban, including Public Relations Manager, Super-Key Account Manager and Business Development Manager – Mr. Botha has a profound knowledge of MPDC’s markest and its area of influence. It’s diverse experience will certainly aid him in deepening MPDC’s relationship with its clients, always striving to provide an excellent customer service.
Henk Wester is also one of MPDC’s new acquisitions and he is the Port’s Harbour Master. Henk has worked for several years at Unicorn Lines and at Mideast Ship Management. His experience of more than 30 years at sea – having been promoted to Master Mariner before his 30th birthday and appointed to RoRo vessels – coupled with a sound shore based career at senior management band, will ensure a safe navigation and operation of all ships at the Port of Maputo.
