After a training initiative which started in November 2012, an additional 16 young tallies (3 women, and 13 men) joined the MPDC family during the month of October. This represents an investment of the company in human capital development, whereby over an eight months, almost 100 youngsters with a minimum schooling level of 12th grade, have successfully been trained as tally clerks, machine operators and other key-positions.
The initiative forms part of several actions taken to meet the needs of the port in terms of an increase in cargo volume handled, which shows a significant increase compared to previous years.
