Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair, will soon make her first ever visit to Mozambique. As her tour of Africa begins, Maputo will be the only stop in Mozambique. Doulos, former sister ship of Logo’s Hope visited Mozambique in 2005, where nearly 21,500 visitors were welcomed up the gangway. Now Logos Hope – newer, larger and carrying an international crew of 400 volunteers, features a greater space for visitors and more comfortable browsing in the air-conditioned book fair and International Café.
Logos Hope will arrive in Maputo on 25th February and will be berthed at Cabotage Berth, until 14st March. Being her first visit to Mozambique, crewmembers are looking forward to exploring the local culture and making new friends. “I am looking forward with great excitement at visiting Maputo, Mozambique and for the friendship that will be built during this historic first ever visit of the Logos Hope,” said Director Seelan Govendor (South Africa). “We are excited to meet you on board.”
Logos Hope’s on board book fair offers an expanded selection of over 5,000 different titles at affordable prices. They cover a range of subjects including science, sports, hobbies, cookery, arts, medicine, languages and philosophy. Additionally, the rest of the Visitor Experience Deck is also open for the public to explore. From the Welcome Area, which introduces the new vessel through a short movie and interactive displays, to the International Café, there is sure to be something for everyone.
MV Logos Hope is operated by GBA Ships e.V., an international, charitable organization registered in Germany. Since 1970, the organization has welcomed over 45 million visitors up the gangways in over 160 countries and territories around the world.
