MPDC, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Human Development (MINEDH), offered on May 7, 150 desks to the Primary School 5º Bairro in Chokwe, Gaza province.
The 150 double-seater school desks are part of a batch of 2,000 desks offered by MPDC and other partners of the port to MINEDH, in order to address the serious lack of school desks in Mozambique. During the event the Minister of Education, Jorge Ferrão, praised MPDC’s initiative and called on the support and involvement of all: private sector, government, communities, parents and children.
The CEO of MPDC Osório Lucas, said the company’s Social Responsibility program for this year will be once more focused on education. “A society with education is a society prepared for the future,” said the Director.
